Originally from the Memphis Tennessee Region of Southaven (MS.), Jill grew up with sports. Jill’s maiden name Stoddard is well known in the sports region of Memphis. Her father was a member of the Arkansas State University football team and her mother continues to be active in competitive tennis. Like Jill, her twin brother and older sister were all standout athletes. Jill was a three-sport athlete in high school and earned a NCAA II softball scholarship to the University of North Alabama. Jill graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and minored in Business Administration. She met her husband (Jeffery Sloan) a Waycross native, in college where Jeffery competed for the North Alabama Lions in baseball.

Jill proved her competencies in wellness testing at the University of North Alabama Wellness Lab. She was involved in wellness testing in the college community and with law enforcement staff. Jill then moved into the wellness industry where she dedicated herself to designing individual exercise programs and implementing group health and wellness programs. She worked with Courthouse Racket and Wellness in Florence, Alabama before beginning her employment with YMCA of Waycross. Jill Sloan holds additional certifications in Group Exercise, by the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) and in Arthritis Exercise programs, by the Arthritis Foundation. Jill has designed and taught a plethora of wellness courses including; aerobics and step aerobics, body toning, body sculpting, fit’n 50’s and prenatal aqua aerobics.

She continues to serve the needs of the YMCA members and the community. Jill has used her professional expertise at the YMCA in a variety of ways, from training “high risk” employees (referred by the hospital), to instructing physical education curriculum to our preschool and after school children. In 2007, Ms. Jill Sloan was selected as a distinguished member of the Ware County Children Obesity Task Force. TRX Certified Trainer, Leadership Waycross Class 2008
